Pang phui

Told you my grandpa is funny. This was related to me by my mum this morning and it happened yesterday night when grandparents were already fast asleep in their room.

+++And so my mum narrated+++

[I went into grandparents' room to spray air freshener. Then, a few minutes later...]

Gpa: "Ah Lan ah! Ah Lan! Ah Lan ah! Ah Lan! Ah Lan!"

[I heard grandpa calling your grandma five times but you know lar, grandma is hard at hearing. Luckily she didn't wake up. So I opened their room door...]

Mum: "Cho mi su kio lu eh bor?" [Why are you calling your wife]

Gpa: "Bo, bo! Wa bee tiuk lang pang phui." [No, no! I smelt fart]

Mum: "Phui lu eh tau lar. Wa spray freshener hor lu eh lang lar." [Fart your head lah. I sprayed air freshener]

Primrose: *giggle giggle* "I thought you have been spraying every day. Why smelt fart only yesterday?"

Mum: "Usually I spray orange-scented freshener. Yesterday I sprayed the lemon one. It's new."

Primrose: ??

Lemon = Fart?
Freshener = Fart?

*scratch head*
*laugh out loud*

Did mum spray too much the lemon became bitter?
Or has the tin of air freshener expired?

One very obvious explanation seems to have been politely overlooked here...

Why was mum using air freshener in the first place? Something to cover up?

Maybe grandpa was right after all.
