While I was on the flight to Kuwait, I had a brief conversation with this Indian lady seated next to me (who claims to be British).

Lady: So where are you going?
Primrose: I am going to Kuwait
Lady: Interesting.
Primrose: Yes indeed. Where are you going?
Lady: I'm going home to London
Primrose: Interesting.

*pause*

Lady: Kuwait is in Korea, isn't it?
Primrose: Kuwait is in the Middle East. Korea is in East Asia

[OMGOMGOMG! DUH! British ain't known to be smart, are they?]

Lady: Ohh! *blush* I haven't heard of Kuwait.
Primrose: *smiles politely* [silent gasp]
Lady: I'm not very good in my geography *laugh*
Primrose: *smiles politely* [Yes duh! I can see that!]

Oh gawd! She was so, well, blardy stewpid! Just because it starts with the letter "K". Didn't she read about the Gulf war?

no hard feelings but i realised that people from big cities, eg. London - where it's the center of the world, normally have very little knowledge of where the rest of the world is.
